Warm temperatures and blossoming apple orchards invite you to go for walks and hikes from the end of March. Especially our Waalweg, a leisurely hiking trail along a watercourse, is ideal for a pleasant walk surrounded by fragrant fruit trees. Thanks to our wonderful location, many walking and hiking routes start right on your doorstep. If you prefer something a little more challenging, take our nostalgic Vellau chairlift and explore the sunny plateau above Algund.

During a large-scale health study in 2019, scientists at Paracelsus Medical University Salzburg discovered that a stay of just one week in Algund can have a positive effect on people's physical and mental health. We feel vindicated, as the philosophy of life of the people of Algund has always been based on an awareness of the natural wealth of our homeland. During Algund Balance in April and May, a varied programme will remind us of the importance of the symbiosis of a healthy body, mind and soul.

Just 2 kilometres separate Algund from Meran. A really good reason to visit the spa town. Meran can be reached after a relaxed 1.5-hour walk along the Algunder Waalweg trail. Once you reach the Tappeiner Promenade, you can already make out the town centre with its magnificent buildings. There are numerous shopping opportunities and cafés in the lively Laubengasse. Those who find the hustle and bustle a little too much can return to our natural oasis in Algund and enjoy the balmy evenings in the village centre with lively music, tasty treats and an aperitif.
