Hike in the footsteps of the man who gave his name to the Dolomites on the “Dolomieu” Trail
A special mountain / hiking experience accompanied by Hanspeter Eisendle
Get out and about with the famous extreme mountaineer, Hanspeter Eisendle, and in the process enjoy the impressive alpine landscape, receive tips from a mountain professional, ask questions and listen to tales of exciting experiences!
Programme:
The bus takes us to Sterzing. A short ride with magnificent views on the Rosskopf Cable Car brings us to Sterzing's home mountain (1860 m). From here, a gently ascending hiking trail leads to the legendary “Kastellacke” (1930 m) directly on the mountain ridge. Still climbing gently, we reach the Vallmingalm (1815 m), which is known for its excellent grey cheese and butter made from cow's milk. We continue along the relatively newly-created Dolomieu Trail, along the slopes of the Pflersch Valley to the Ladurn Alm (1724 m) and the hut of the same name (stop for refreshments). The trail has been newly laid in parts and with a great deal of skill and passes some wonderful viewing platforms. After refreshments at the Ladurn Hut we again approach the “stray” chunk of Dolomite, the Pflerscher Tribulaun mountain, which, thanks to its imposing form, can be described as the emblem of the Pflersch Valley. Before we reach the Toffring brook, the Sägeweg trail brings us to the valley station of the Ladurns chair lift.
