Blossoming of the apple trees in South Tyrol

The seasons in Algund

Every season has its own charm - especially in the garden village near Merano.

At what time of year is Algund near Merano at its most beautiful? Well, this question is hard to answer. It depends above all on what is on your holiday agenda. Or what type of holidaymaker you are. But basically, you can say that Algund has the right season for everyone. Because here, in the Mediterranean-alpine garden village near Merano, thanks to the mild climate and the central location in the middle of South Tyrol, you can experience almost everything you could wish for. Summer and winter. Spring and autumn.
Spring in Algund, a veritable sea of blossoms

Mediterranean Spring

In March, with 15°C in Algund, it is already as warm as on the Cote d'Azur, for example, and warmer than on the northern Adriatic coast. In April the average temperatures of 20°C already reach values like in the Gulf of Naples, on Sardinia or Majorca! The icing on the cake are natural spectacles such as the apple blossom, countless hiking possibilities between 300 and 3,000 metres and the healthy mountain air that inspires body, mind and soul.

Sunny Summer

300 days of sunshine a year - that's quite a lot, isn't it? Here in Algund sun lovers get their money's worth, especially in the summer months. Walk along the Algunder Waalweg Trail, climb the peaks of the Nature Park Texel Group, go on bike tours on the Via Claudia Augusta, swim in the pool, take a stroll... just some of the highlights you can experience during your summer holiday in Algund.

The beautiful variety of colours of the South Tyrolean autumn

Golden Autumn

The landscape in the valley is wrapped in a colourful dress of colours, the mountain peaks are powdered white, and the warm sunrays on your skin literally make you feel the summer. The golden season in Algund awaits you not only with wonderful views and temperatures, but also with culinary delights and the autumn highlight par excellence - Törggelen in the parlours and cellars of the farms.

White winter delights at the Christmas market

Sparkling Winter

During the cold season, things are rather quiet and contemplative in Algund. In December, a small Christmas market awaits you in the centre of the village, where you can warm your heart and soul and buy local handicrafts. Snow bunnies, on the other hand, can look forward to the nearby Merano 2000 ski area. 40 kilometres of slopes, rustic mountain huts and modern lifts make for a sporty and enjoyable skiing holiday very close to Algund.
