A leisurely hike that promises a wonderful view of the Merano region.

General description
A wonderful hike that leads via the Burg and Ochsentodweg to Thurnstein Castle and further to Tirol Castle.
You can already feel the Mediterranean climate here.
This hike is also suitable for families.
Route description

The hike starts at the valley station of the Vellau chairlift in Mitterplars. You follow the Burgweg path 20 until you reach the Caffè Conrad. Now you continue walking until you reach the Blumenthalerhof. There you follow the paved Ochsentodweg path 29, which leads us slightly uphill to Thurnstein Castle and further along the asphalt road to St. Peter and to Castle Tirol.
Return journey: steep descent via Brunnenburg or via Dorf Tirol (Gnaidweg) to Gratsch and via the Algunder Waalweg back to the starting point.

Coming from Vinschgau, Algund is right before Merano.
