Aschbach - Naturnser Alm
Aschbach a fraction of Algund is a small mountain village at 1,360 meters. It is located southwest of Algund and can be reached by cable car in only 7 minutes. In a circular hike we’d like to discover the Naturnser Alm (mountain hut) and its surroundings at 2.000 m, located below the Mount Guardia Alta at the eastern foothills of the Ortles-Cevedale Group.
The starting point of the hike is the small mountain village of Aschbach (1,340 m). From the mountain station of the cable car Aschbach you hike along the path # 28 up to the panoramic mountain Vigiljoch. Now follow the path # 30 which leads to the Naturnser Alm our destination for the day. After an extensive rest on the alp we start our way back. From the Naturnser Alm, you can either follow the path # 27/28 northeastwards down to Aschbach or you can decide to return to the Vigiljoch via path # 30 or # 9.
From Meran:

Next to the place Töll and shortly bevor Rabland, turn left and follow signs to Aschbach/cable car.
The cable car is directy next to the Vinschgau train railway station of Rabland.
Parcing place of the cable car Aschbach.
For those who want to leave their car at home: the trains of the Vinschgau railway stops directly at the valley station of the new mountain cable car and the well-known Vinschgau cycle path follows the river banks of the Etsch not far from there.
